- BDG strongly advises changing high-pressure fuel lines during injector replacement. Over time, typically after 120,000 to 150,000 km, the steel inside these lines begins to break down. Small particles travel directly into the injectors and, although only visible under magnification, can still damage the new injectors. This process mirrors how water erodes rocks over time, only accelerated by the common rail system’s high pressure. It’s also critical not to bend the fuel lines to remove parts like the rocker cover, as this can weaken them, causing cracks and leaks down the line.
