Knowing when to replace your fuel lines is crucial for maintaining your engine's performance and longevity. Here are some key signs that it might be time to change your fuel lines:

• Visible cracks, leaks or bulges
• Fuel Contamination

BDG strongly recommends replacing high-pressure fuel lines when you replace the injectors. Typically, fuel lines start to degrade internally after 120,000 to 150,000 km. As the steel inside breaks down, microscopic particles can flow into the injectors, causing potential damage.

This gradual degradation is similar to how water slowly wears away rocks, and the high pressure of the common rail system accelerates the process. Additionally, avoid bending fuel lines when removing components like the rocker cover, as this can weaken them and result in cracks or leaks once reinstalled.
